Can Saurons kropp från andra ålderen med maktkretsen förstörs utan att ringen separeras?

Saurons kropp dör i böckerna flera gånger:

Isildurs borttagning av ringen kan ha förstört Saurons kropp (även om det kanske också har uppfunnits av Peter Jackson som en cool bild), men Sauron flydde i stället för att kroppen dör i vad vi skulle betrakta normal mening.

Så, om someone managed to sneak up behind him and strike some fatal blows to him Sauron kanske också har flyktat från sin kropp om han inte kunde förutse ett alternativt sätt att fly, och ja, Saurons kropp förstördes ett antal gånger, varav en var involverad att skilja maktringen från den.
