Antilles is a very common in-universe family name in Star Wars. Stephen J. Sansweet, director of content management at Lucasfilm, stated that Antilles is equivalent to "Jones" or "Smith". "Jon Antilles" is thus synonymous with the name John Smith, a generic alias used in Western culture.

Wedge Antilles is from Corellia. For more information on Wedge, please visit the alt.fan.wedge news group. On the Official Site Steve Sansweet explains "it should be noted that 'Antilles' is sort of the Star Wars equivalent of 'Jones', and 'Smith'. There have been numerous characters throughout the films, books and expanded universe material named Antilles, but almost none of them are directly related."

Detta bevisar dock inget i universum . Det är svårt, förmodligen omöjligt att bevisa att de inte var inte relaterade. Men eftersom de var från olika planeter, och en faktiskt var nära besläktad med royalty, verkar det mycket osannolikt att de var nära besläktade. Det är möjligt att de delade en avlägsen förfader eller var relaterade till äktenskap, men om inte ny information kommer ut, kan vi troligen inte svara på denna fråga.
