Vilken färg är Stormlight?

Stormlight är exakt vad det låter som. Ljus.

Kaladins ljus förändras inte av någonting. Dalinar hade en skärplatta som jag trodde hade safirer inlagda i dem. Ljuset som kommer genom plattan skulle vara blått, eftersom de kommer från de blå stenarna.

Efter att jag postat det blev jag väldigt nyfiken och började rycka för att se vad jag kunde hitta.

I en AMA på Reddit 2013 (som jag hittade här ), nämnde Sanderson hur Ädelstenens färg är viktig för Surgebinding. Det här är vad han sa:

A gemstone with an impure color would be considered like a bad alloy in the Mistborn magic—it either wouldn't work at all, or would work very poorly. The chemical and color signature needs to be of a specific variety to provide the proper key to accessing the power of transformation.

Det är meningsfullt; Trots allt gör en Soulcaster ädelstenar olika saker för varje sten. Om färgen på ädelstenar betyder, kan de avge olika typer / färger av Stormlight, som olika metaller i Mistborn.

Jag har inte hittat Brandon som bekräftar det här, men jag har hittat flera frågor om en Awakener som brutit med ädelstenens / storlightens färg.

Eftersom olika ädelstenar i olika färger - och färgerna tycks vara viktiga - gör olika saker via Surgebinding, tror jag att storfärgens färg faktiskt beror på ädelstenen.
