How övertygade Mundungus Ordern att använda Seven Potters planen?

Innan händelserna i Dödligt Hallows , Snape konfunderade Mundungus, på Dumbledores order, så att Ordern använde devisningarna som en plan att ta bort Harry från Privet Drive.

“You will have to give Voldemort the correct date of Harry’s departure from his aunt and uncle’s,” said Dumbledore. “Not to do so will raise suspicion, when Voldemort believes you so well informed. However, you must plant the idea of decoys; that, I think, ought to ensure Harry’s safety. Try Confunding Mundungus Fletcher. And Severus, if you are forced to take part in the chase, be sure to act your part convincingly. . . I am counting upon you to remain in Lord Voldemort’s good books as long as possible, or Hogwarts will be left to the mercy of the Carrows. . . ”
Now Snape was head to head with Mundungus in an unfamiliar tavern, Mundungus’s face looking curiously blank, Snape frowning in concentration. “You will suggest to the Order of the Phoenix,” Snape murmured, “that they use decoys. Polyjuice Potion. Identical Potters. It’s the only thing that might work. You will forget that I have suggested this. You will present it as your own idea. You understand?”
“I understand,” murmured Mundungus, his eyes unfocused. . .

Och självklart kunde Moody och Order inte använda sin ursprungliga plan, som Moody själv förklarar:

Moody dropped his sacks at his feet and turned to Harry, “As Dedalus probably told you, we had to abandon Plan A. Pius Thicknesse has gone over, which gives us a big problem. He’s made it an imprisonable offense to connect this house to the Floo Network, place a Portkey here, or Apparate in or out. All done int he name of your protection to prevent You-Know-Who getting in at you. Absolutely pointless, seeing as your mother’s charm does that already. What he’s really done is to stop you from getting out of here safely.
“Second problem. You’re underage, which means you’ve still got the Trace on you.”
“I don’t—”
“The Trace, the Trace!” said Mad-Eye impatiently. “The charm that detects magical activity around under-seventeens, the way the Ministry finds out out about underage magic! If you, or anyone around you, casts a spell to get you out of here, Thicknesse is going to know about it, and so will the Death Eaters.

Men jag är säker på att beställarnas medlemmar kunde ha föreställt sig många andra sätt (och kanske till och med några som kanske har varit säkrare) för att få Harry ut där. Bara till exempel (och jag är ingen Auror eller medlem i Ordern, så föreställ dig vad de kunde ha tänkt):

  • använder Polyjuice Potion på andra håll, så att ingen såg ut som Harry (svaret på varför de inte gjorde det är här , men det betyder inte att ingen i Orden skulle ha trott av det)

  • låta Harry fly med hastighet och diskretion, desillusionerade och flyga sin Firebolt;

  • som Dursleys några minuter tidigare, körde några miles, sedan misslyckas eller använder en portnyckel

  • eller andra möjligheter, några av dem diskuteras det .

Så hur övertygade Mundungus de andra medlemmarna i Orden att anta sin plan *?
(Jag var aldrig under intrycket att han var mycket älskad eller ansåg något briljant sinne bland ordern.)

* Annat än att berätta för dem "Vi måste göra det, annars kommer det inte att vara någon kamp av de Seven Potters" självklart!

Mundungus är en viktig del av Ordern.

‘How come he’s in the Order?’ Harry said, very quietly.

‘He’s useful,’ Sirius muttered. ‘Knows all the crooks – well, he would, seeing as he’s one himself. It pays to have someone like Dung around, he hears things we don’t. -Order of the Phoenix

Mundungus, som karriärkriminell som de färdigheter som behövs för att gömma sig, och har gatan smarts.

Det är underförstått att ordern inte hade några andra idéer som de trodde kunde fungera. Således övertygade Mundungus dem genom att helt enkelt föreslå en idé som de trodde skulle kunna fungera. Från samtalet när planen förklaras till Harry (min betoning):

"Let’s have no more arguments. Time’s wearing on. I want a few of your hairs, boy, now."

"But this is mad, there’s no need —"

"No need!" snarled Moody. "With You-Know-Who out there and half the Ministry on his side? Potter, if we’re lucky he’ll have swallowed the fake bait and he’ll be planning to ambush you on the thirtieth, but he’d be mad not to have a Death Eater or two keeping an eye out, it’s what I’d do. They might not be able to get at you or this house while your mother’s charm holds, but it’s about to break and they know the rough position of the place. Our only chance is to use decoys. Even You-Know-Who can’t split himself into seven."

Snape använde en Confundus charm för att plantera idén i Mundungus för att föreslå Order att de använder Polyjuice potion / syv Potters-ordningen för att få Harry ut ur nr 4 Privet Drive.
