Varför ville Voldemort döda Harry Potter med tanke på att Harry var en av horcruxerna som gav skydd för Voldemorts eviga överlevnad?

Eftersom Harry var en av Horcruxes är det inte Voldemorts intresse att döda honom. Harry är en av nycklarna till Voldemorts egen överlevnad. Varför är Voldemort så böjd att han dödar Harry trots att Harry är så viktig för sin egen överlevnad?

Den mörka Herren visste inte att Harry hade en bit av sin själ.

Till skillnad från Horcruxes han skapade, hade den mörka Herren ingen avsikt att placera en bit av sin själ i Harry Potter. När han försökte döda Harry och hans Killing Curse återhämtade sig, orsakade det att en del av sin själ splittrade sig utan sin avsikt eller kunskap och fäster sig vid Harry. Hans själ var redan försvagad på grund av att han hade splittrat sin själ så många gånger för att göra de Horcruxes som han avsiktligt hade skapat, så när hans förbannelse återuppstod orsakade hans själ att dela upp sig.

“You were the seventh Horcrux, Harry, the Horcrux he never meant to make. He had rendered his soul so unstable that it broke apart when he committed those acts of unspeakable evil, the murder of your parents, the attempted killing of a child. But what escaped from that room was even less than he knew. He left more than his body behind. Ju mer Horcruxes en trollkarl gör desto mer instabil blir deras själ. Den mörka Herren hade skapat fem innan han försökte döda Harry, vilket gjorde att hans själ var extremt instabil.

Voldemort visste inte.

"Here is the thing: for convenience, I had Dumbledore say to Harry, "You were the Horcrux he never meant to make," but I think, by definition, a Horcrux has to be made intentionally. So because Voldemort never went through the grotesque process that I imagine creates a Horcrux with Harry, (SU: Mm-hm.) it was just that he had destabilized his soul so much that it split when he was hit by the backfiring curse. And so this part of it flies off, and attaches to the only living thing in the room. A part of it flees in the very-close-to-death limbo state that Voldemort then goes on and exists in. I suppose it's very close to being a Horcrux, but Harry did not become an evil object. He didn't have curses upon him that the other Horcruxes had. Voldemort visste inte att han hade skapat en horcrux från Harry - efter att ha gjort så många före Harry, hade han gjort sin själ väldigt ömtålig, genom att repetera det i stycken för att dölja den. När Lilys skydd över Harry hindrade Voldemort från att döda honom, bröt Voldemorts illa skadade själ igen och fragmentet som bröt ut gömde sig inuti Harrys egen själ, eftersom han var den enda levande saken i huset och Voldemort inte hade gjort det specifika ritual för att göra ett föremål till ett lämpligt hem för en horcrux. Voldemort var inte medveten om skadan, för så mycket annat pågick - han förlorade sin kropp och var svag ("svagare än det mest underbara spöket").
