Uttrycket "jorden" används faktiskt upprepade gånger i Legendiet, särskilt i Ainulindalë, (betoning min):

But Manwë was the brother of Melkor in the mind of Ilúvatar, and he was the chief instrument of the second theme that Ilúvatar had raised up against the discord of Melkor; and he called unto himself many spirits both greater and less, and they came down into the fields of Arda and aided Manwë, lest Melkor should hinder the fulfilment of their labour for ever, and Earth should wither ere it flowered. And Manwë said unto Melkor: 'This kingdom thou shalt not take for thine own, wrongfully, for many others have laboured here do less than thou.' And there was strife between Melkor and the other Valar; and for that time Melkor withdrew and departed to other regions and did there what he would; but he did not put the desire of the Kingdom of Arda from his heart.
The Silmarillion I Ainulindalë
Dessa är bara några få exempel; termen "jorden" används över hundra gånger i Silmarillion ensam.
Quenya-namnet används inte så mycket som du kanske tror. den används mindre i Silmarillion än "Earth", och sedan mestadels i de två första delarna ( Ainulindalë och Valaquenta ), som är de myter som har sitt ursprung i Aman. Ur det här perspektivet är det meningsfullt att Quenya-ordet används, eftersom Quenya skulle ha varit översättningens ursprungliga språk.
Efter det är hänvisningarna till "Arda" nästan uteslutande relaterade till händelser från de tidigare berättelserna; igen, det finns en logik i att använda Quenya termen.
I andra fall skulle de ursprungliga myterna ha skrivits i Sindarin, så att använda ett Quenya-ord gör inte en hel hink med mening. Ringenes Herre , å andra sidan, skulle ha skrivits i Westron av hobbits; igen, inte mycket anledning till ett Quenya-ord som ska användas.
Det är värt att notera att kontinenten i Mellanöstern har ett annat namn i Quenya (inte Middle-Arda, tyvärr). Det visas en massa gånger i Middle Earths historia , men bara två gånger i Silmarillion (betonar min):
