Varje lampabär innehåller en kyberkristall som valts av Jedi som skapade den. New Disney canon information tyder på att dessa kristaller är i huvudsak kvasi-levande enheter.

organic and inorganic, as close to alive as a stone can be—which I
suspect is why the Jedi were able to interact with kybers through the

Krystaller har i synnerhet en närvaro i kraften, som förklaras i Ahsoka . De ringer till dem som är avsedda att använda dem för att skapa en lightaber:
The crystals grew.
Clear as ice and cold until they found the hands that waited for them,
they added structure in an ordered way, one prism at a time. And while
they grew, they waited.

Kristaller har varit kända för att kalla till en kraftkänslig från en lightsaber:

his lightsaber hilt. The crystals that had powered his lightsaber were
no longer contained by metal, but their song had not dimmed. She held
them in one hand, almost shaking as the familiarity of them coursed
through her, while the other hand retrieved the half-finished hilts
she carried with her.

Som sådan är den mest troliga förklaringen att det inte är lightsaber som lockar kraftkänsliga, men kyberkristallerna inom. Eftersom kristallerna resonerar med kraften, kan Force-användare i allmänhet kunna känna dem (såvida de inte gömmer sig, som de verkar göra på Ilum). Och naturligtvis kan kristallerna kommunicera allmänna intentioner genom kraften (som det var fallet med Ezra).
