Det har varit ungefär ett decennium sedan jag läste Hobbit eller Ringenes Herre , men jag tittade nyligen på filmerna (alla 6) och från Filmens ståndpunkt, det finns ingen tydlig indikation på att Gandalf någonsin upptäckt Gollum och hans relation till One Ring. I början av Ringförbundet påpekar Gandalf att ringen har kallats "dyrbar" av Gollum innan, efter att Bilbo kallar det så. Han anger också för Frodo att han "sökte överallt, men fienden hittade först [Gollum]". Jag frågar den här frågan för att Bilbo aldrig förklarar hur han hittat ringen i Smaugs ödemark , mycket mindre vad den gör. Gandalf är givetvis misstänkt och ( Slaget vid de fem arméerna spoilers)
By the end of the 3rd movie, he indicates that he knows Bilbo has a magic ring, but he does not realize at that moment which ring in particular it is
Frodo vet också om Gollum, men jag antar bara för att han bodde hos Bilbo och sannolikt hört historier om hans äventyr. Gandalf har inte sett Bilbo sedan händelserna av The Hobbit (ungefär 60 år tror jag), så det finns inget sätt han skulle ha lärt sig om Gollum från Bilbo emellan The Hobbit em> och Ringenes Herre . Jag antog kanske att Gandalf på något sätt lärde mig Gollum under sin forskning i Minas Terith.
Så hur och när läser Gandalf faktiskt om Gollum? Och hur lärde Mordor / Sauron om Gollum att fånga honom för att hitta information om varelsens läge?
I boken vet Gandalf om Gollum eftersom Bilbo berättade för företaget - även om han behöll information om ringen först:
Then they wanted to know all about his adventures after they had lost him, and he sat down and told them everything-except about the finding of the ring ("not just now" he thought). They were particularly interested in the riddle-competition, and shuddered most appreciatively at his description of Gollum. (Out of the Frying-pan, Into the Fire)
Till sist efter Spiders-episoden ( Flies and Spiders ) berättar Bilbo dvärgarna allt (det bör noteras att Gandalf inte är inte del av företaget just nu):
There they lay for some time, puffing and panting. put very soon they began to ask questions. They had to have the whole vanishing business carefully explained, and the finding of the ring interested them so much that for a while they forgot their own troubles. Balin in particular insisted on having the Gollum story, riddles and all, told all over again, with the ring in its proper place.
För närvarande kan jag inte hämta en referens i The Hobbit för när Bilbo berättade för Gandalf om hans ring (även om Gandalf visste om Gollum som min första citat visar) men Gandalf visste uppenbarligen och visste ganska tidigt, vilket visas i Tidens skugga i Ringenes Herre:
När det gäller Sauron finns det absolut inga bevis för att Sauron visste någonting om Gollum och Gollums besittning av Ringen före Gollums inträde i Mordor, men efter det upptäckte han snabbt nog; igen från Shadow of the Past :Then I heard Bilbo's strange story of how he had "won" it, and I could not believe it. That was the way of it, I fear. When he was found he had already been there long, and was on his way back. On some errand of mischief. But that does not matter much now. His worst mischief was done.
'Yes, alas! through him the Enemy has learned that the One has been found again. He knows where Isildur fell. He knows where Gollum found his ring. He knows that it is a Great Ring, for it gave long life. He knows that it is not one of the Three, for they have never been lost, and they endure no evil. He knows that it is not one of the Seven, or the Nine, for they are accounted for. He knows that it is the One. And he has at last heard, I think, of hobbits and the Shire.'
Så ja, Gollum gick helt enkelt in i Mordor.
Hans forskning i Minas Tirith var ganska tvärtom. Som de andra svaren har sagt, visste Gandalf om Gollum från Bilbo. Han misstänkte att Gollums ring var kraftfull. Genom att fånga Gollum och förhöra honom började Gandalf misstänka att Bilbos ring skulle kunna vara Den och upptäckte var Gollum hade hittat den. Han gick till Minas Tirith för att den sista han visste om den En var att Isildur tog det. Han försökte binda Gollums upptäckt till den sista kända platsen för One Ring och lyckades.
I det ovannämnda gandalftalet hade det kallats dyrbart av gollum. Det är falskt. Han sa att det har kallats det förut, men inte av dig. Han hade ingen möjlighet att veta att gollum kallade det dyrbart, han hade läst om Isildur och sa att det var värdefullt för honom.
