Var kommer Kettenkrad-motorn från?

I Therocity Archives , en del av Tvättfiler -serien av Charles Stross, huvudpersonen, hittar Bob Howard en Kettenkrad i andra änden av en portal.

Some kind of small vehicle, like a weird cross between a tank and a motorbike, is parked against the wall, dusty with a sprinkling that isn't snow.

Men när

Bob gets home, there's a Kettenkrad engine on his kitchen table.

The front hall is full of petite tank tracks. They're about twenty centimetres wide, covered in dried-up mud, and run past the hulking Victorian coat rack and the living room door to stop just short of the kitchen.

 Senare bekräftas att detta är motorblocket i en Kettenkrad, som tillhör en av Bobs hushållare.

Var kommer det ifrån?

Läser tillbaka, jag tror att jag bara läste för mycket in i den saknade och återställande Kettenkrad, med undantag för möjligheten att det bara är en konstig slump. Jag trodde också att Morris skulle vara en av olyckorna.
