I Terminator-franchisen nämns ofta utrotningsläger. Men från en maskinlogisk POV skulle det inte vara mer meningsfullt att bara döda alla människor i sikte, period? Eller fånga dem i små områden och knyta dem? (även dagens militärelektronik härdas mot EMP och Skynet skulle inte bry sig om miljön.) IIRC, resonemanget bakom getto / koncentrationsläger / utrotningsläger / gas "duschar" är att missleda eller vilseleda människor både inom och utanför landet som till vad som verkligen händer. Men Skynet behöver inte oroa sig för dålig publicitet och kan tillverka allt det fria arbetet det behöver. Finns det någon in-universförklaring för att hålla stora grupper fångar?
Det ursprungliga skriptet för Avslutaren föreslår att de var dödsläger. Implikationen är att målet var att förfoga över människorna med så mycket effektivitet som möjligt:
