That we have to accept that in fact, in a way, Rand is going insane (as in as the books progress).

Denna citat från Semirhage bekräftar i grunden (om hon kan lita på) att Rands diagnos beror på galenskap, eftersom hon själv var en myndighetsfigur i AoL när det gäller saker som detta.

Q:The question is, with Rand and LTT, do they have 1 soul or 2 souls in the body?

A: They have 1 soul with 2 personalities. The reincarnation of souls does not mean reincarnation of personalities. The personality develops with each reincarnation of the soul. This is the cosmology that I [cobbled] together

Vi vet att Rand är personligheten hos Dragon som vi följer i serien. Lews är där som en distinkt sann personlighet passar inte med informationen ovan.

Men Rand går igenom två saker -
1. Dela draken i en annan personlighet

När Rand har sin epiphany -

Why do we live again? Lews Therin asked, suddenly. His voice was crisp and distinct.

Yes, Rand said, pleading. Tell me. Why?

Maybe… Lews Therin said, shockingly lucid, not a hint of madness to him. He spoke softly, reverently. Why? Could it be… Maybe it’s so that we can have a second chance.

Within that moment, suddenly something amazing occurred to him. If I live again, then she might as well!

The Gathering Storm, kapitel 50 - Veins of Gold

Hon är Ilyena, som Lews dödades i sin galenskap och tanken är Rands, vilket innebär att han äntligen accepterar den del av honom som är / var Lews.

Rösten slutar när Rand accepterar sitt öde (betonar min).

For they were not two men, and never had been.

He regarded the world beneath him. The clouds above had finally broken, if only just above him. The gloom dispersed, allowing him to see the sun hanging just above.

Rand looked up at it. Then he smiled. Finally, he let out a deep-throated laugh, true and pure.

Himarms svar gör det klart att RJ menade att detta skulle förbli ett mysterium. Men här är några kanon bevis - tolka det hur du vill.

"Some men who can channel begin to hear voices." [Cadsuane] spoke almost absently, frowning at the flattened sphere of silver and gold. "It is a part of the madness. Voices conversing with them, telling them what to do. " The teapot drifted gently to the floor by her feet. "Have you heard any?"

Startlingly, Dashiva gave a raucous laugh, shoulders shaking. Narishma wet his lips; he might not have been afraid of the woman before, but now he watched her as closely as a scorpion.

Det kan också tolkas så att Rand är bara ett exempel på en man som kanaliserar, börjar bli arg och hör röster i huvudet. Mitt argument mot detta är att Rand också tar upp kunskap från Lews Therin - kunskap från Legends Age, vilket bekräftas i Forsaken-PoV-kapitlen. Hur skulle han ha fått det om han bara föreställde sig rösten i hans huvud?

Ansvarsbegränsning: självklart vet jag (Rand) bara vad jag själv har upplevt, och kan bara döma av det. Om Narishma skulle vilja berätta om sina egna erfarenheter i kommentarerna, skulle jag vara mest tacksam.

Ja, Rand blir galen och rösten i hans huvud är en del av detta. Det faktum att det är Lews Therin har uppenbarligen ingenting att göra med detta, som Cadsuane, i bok 7, kommenterar att detta är kopplat till taint. I bok 11 kommentarer på Semirhage om detta ses på AoL och säger att om de 2 personligheterna inte kan integrera personen blir galen.
