Harry försöker använda Alohomora, öppnade charm Hermione Reguluss dörr med Salazar Slytherins locket. Hermione visas att öppna dörren med Alohomora.
“Let’s find out,’ said Harry. He pushed the door: it was locked. Hermione pointed her wand at the handle and said, ‘Alohomora.’ There was a click, and the door swung open.”

Då sägs Harry senare använda "charmen Hermione har brukade öppna Regulus sovrumsdörr" på Salazar Slytherins locket när han försöker öppna den, vilket tyder på att han använde Alohomora. Det kan också betyda att Alohomora (och eventuellt Colloportus också) kan användas på andra objekt med lås eller att Harry inte vet hur Alohomora fungerar. Båda verkar möjligt.

Pottermore säger att Alohomora kan användas på "låsta föremål" så Colloportus kan fungera också.
