Vad betyder detta exakt?
Genom dem antar jag att det hänvisar till människorna, alverna och dvärgarna Sauron gav ringar av makt.
Genom ... och i mörkret binder dem , menar han att binda dem till hans vilja som slavar eller att fälla dem på något sätt? Var elven och dvärgarna tänkt att hamna ringwraiths som människorna?
Vad är mörkret ?
Kanske ingen förklaring någonsin, jag är bara nyfiken. Under lång tid tyckte jag att det läste och i mörkret BITE dem . Som jag antog menade att döda dem.
Det är ganska tydligt (från Silmarillion och andra texter) att "mörkret" är semi-metaforiskt menat. Det hänvisar till Saurons onda som att skapa ett figurativt mörker över allt han befaller. Observera också att hans domäner alltid beskrivs som mörka och brooding, även under dagtid.
