On the fulcrum they had fashioned, the light side had dipped and the dark side had ascended.

Spridningen av kaos

Detta citat är fyllt med Jedi propaganda IMHO, men det finns fortfarande en giltig punkt. Jedi gjorde ljussidan mycket starkare bara genom befintliga och gjorde aktiva insatser för att göra det ännu starkare. Klonkrigen var lösningen. Många stora Jedi föll på grund av kriget (Dooku, Deepa, Vos), och till och med de som inte avskedade var besvärade:

In peaceful times Anakin might have been able to bridle his rage, but now he relied on it to drive him forward, to transform him into the person he needed to be. Cut off the head. Twice he might have been able to kill Dooku himself had Obi-Wan not held him back. But he didn't hold that against his former Master.

Jag tycker att detta är ett missförstånd.

Windu kom precis till denna slutsats, att deras förmåga att använda kraften minskar eftersom allt som hänt fel inträffade under deras näsor vid den tiden och de såg det inte.

Svaret finns i Darth Plagueis . Plagueis experimenterade med att påverka mormor i stor skala. Han hittade ett sätt att påverka midiklorier på galaktisk skala men inte till den nivå han önskade.
