Did Yoda misstänker Palpatine före klonkrigen?
I början av Episode II möts Padmé och Palpatine och har ett litet argument, och Palpatine verkar gissa vad Padmé kommer att säga:
Padmé: Chancellor, if I may comment, I do not believe...
Palpatine: ...that the situation is that serious? (pause) Oh, but I do, Senator.
Padmé bekräftar inte att Palpatine "gissade" rätt och Palpatine verkar helt säker på att han visste vad hon skulle säga - självklart, eftersom en Sith-herre verkligen kan göra det. Yoda ger Palpatine en bländning, som jag tolkar som "misstänker".
Ansåg Yoda Palpatine redan på detta stadium att vara en Sith-herre eller till och med en kraftkänslig människa? Om han gjorde det, varför diskuterade han det inte med Obi-Wan eller Mace eller någon? Om han inte gjorde det, varför bländningen?

Enligt filmens officiella novellering har Mace Windu och Master Yoda diskuterat möjligheten att någon stäng till kanslaren som en Sith Lord, i linje med Dookus inträde i den tidigare filmen.
Med vad som bara skulle kunna beskrivas som en verkligt fantastisk brist på dom dominerade de Palpatine nästan omedelbart och motiverade att han är för kraftfull för att vara en riktigt dålig kille eller om han redan hade gjort något dåligt.
Det finns ingen indikation på att vid det tidigare mötet (i AotC) att de hade några allvarliga misstankar om att Palpatine var en mörk Force-användare eller att han var något annat än en power-hungry politiker med hög kompetens.
“But he doesn’t have the authority to interfere with a Jedi investigation …” Obi-Wan frowned, suddenly uncertain. “Does he?”
“The Senate has surrendered so much power, it’s hard to say where his authority stops.”
“It’s that bad?”
Mace’s jaw locked. “The only reason Palpatine’s not a suspect is because he already rules the galaxy.”
“But we are closer than we have ever been to rooting out the Sith,” Obi-Wan said slowly. “That can only be good news. I would think that Anakin’s friendship with Palpatine could be of use to us in this-he has the kind of access to Palpatine that other Jedi might only dream of. Their friendship is an asset, not a danger.”
“You can’t tell him.” “I beg your pardon?”
“Of the whole Council, only Yoda and myself know how deep this actually goes. And now you. I have decided to share this with you because you are in the best situation to watch Anakin. Watch him. Nothing more.”
“We-” Obi-Wan shook his head helplessly. “We don’t keep secrets from each other.”
