Jag letar efter titeln på en bok från 50-talet och 60-talet om en främmande amoeba som slår samman med en ung pojke, gör honom immun mot sjukdom och ger honom en närmast hälsande faktor i utbyte mot pojkens hjälp i lokalisera en flyktig alien som kraschade på jorden samtidigt.
När historien fortskrider lär de sig att den flyktiga alien har gått ihop med pojkens far, som arbetar på NASA, och använder faderns engagemang i raketprogrammet för att få sin flykt.

Jag kan inte hitta några citat för att fadern är involverad i en NASA-ekvivalent eller raketry i allmänhet, och mitt minne om boken är alldeles för gammal för att ge bekräftelse personligen, men det verkar ganska nära allt.
