Hogwarts fick mycket snö åtminstone en gång, och klassen fortsatte.

Hogwarts hade flera meter snö ett år, och klasserna fortsatte som vanligt. Några ställen i slottet var kyliga, men studenter förväntades fortfarande delta i sina lektioner. Det här är logiskt - de skulle inte behöva transporter för att komma till skolan eftersom de bor där, och eftersom de skulle vara där och måste stanna kvar i alla fall kan de också fortsätta sina klasser. Eftersom de skulle vara där ändå finns det ingen anledning att avbryta klassen.

The lake froze solid and the Weasley twins were punished for bewitching several snowballs so that they followed Quirrell around, bouncing off the back of his turban. The few owls that managed to battle their way through the stormy sky to deliver post had to be nursed back to health by Hagrid before they could fly off again.

No one could wait for the holidays to start. While the Gryffindor common room and the Great Hall had roaring fires, the draughty corridors had become icy and a bitter wind rattled the windows in the classrooms. Worst of all were Professor Snape’s classes down in the dungeons, where their breath rose in a mist before them and they kept as close as possible to their hot cauldrons.”

Även deras utomhusklasser fortsatte i snön.

De två utomhusklassen vid Hogwarts, Herbology och Care of Magical Creatures fortsatte även i tung snö.

Nobody was looking forward to Care of Magical Creatures much in this weather, though, as Ron said, the Skrewts would probably warm them up nicely, either by chasing them or by blasting off so forcefully that Hagrid’s cabin caught fire.”

Det finns staver för att bekämpa snö, men lärare använder sällan dem.

Det finns stava som skulle hjälpa till med tunga snöfall. Hermione använde en charm för att skapa varm luft för att rensa snö med.

När det var tungt snöade emellertid lärarna och personalen inte riktigt magiska åtgärder för att antingen rensa snön eller värma slottet.

Herbologi var en gång avbruten, men endast indirekt på grund av snö.

Herbologi avbröts när professor Sprout växte Mandrakes på vintern för att återuppliva basiliskens förstenade offer. Men det berodde på att hon ville hantera att skydda sig själv eftersom det var viktigt.
