Sith nämndes inte i teaterversionerna av den ursprungliga Star Wars trilogin. Darth Vader identifierades emellertid som "en mörk Lord of the Sith" som han gjorde sitt första utseende i novelleringen (officiellt författad av George Lucas, men egentligen spökskrivet av Alan Dean Foster). Det verkar också innebära att Vaderens maskerade, mekaniska utseende kanske inte är unikt för honom, men kan istället delas av alla Sith.
Så vem kom upp med namnet "Sith," Lucas eller Foster (eller någon annan)? Och vad var "Sith" tänkt på mening, när de först namngavs, ca. 1976?
Sith nämndes i öppningsgranskningen av George Lucas ursprungliga Rough Draft , påbörjades under vintern av 1973 och avslutad i maj 1974.
THE STAR WARS
Until the recent GREAT REBELLION, the JEDI BENDU were the most feared warriors in the universe. For one hundred thousand years, generations of JEDI perfected their art as the personal bodyguards of the emperor.
