I dvärglegenden svär dvärgarna att den största av de 7 dvärgringarna gavs Durin av Celebrimbor snarare än Sauron. Om han gjorde hur kunde Celebrimbor (när han fångas av Sauron personligen) avslöja Sauron platsen för de 7 dvärgringarna om man redan var med Durin eller gjorde Sauron kanske till ögonen på Durin, se ut som Celebrimbor?
