För regelbundna (eller något vanliga) arter är Nausicanerna minst civiliserade i kanonen. De verkar aggressiva och vill alltid slåss, mycket som Jem'Hadar. De två skulle förmodligen vara vänner.
Finns det någon indikation (i kanonen eller någon annanstans) som Nausicaans har en regering? Jag gissar att de lever i en anarki, som Chalnoth ("Allegiance").
I Enterprise-avsnittet " Fortunate Son ", som äger rum runt år 2151, nämns det att Nausicanerna är främst pirater:
ARCHER: Sorry we couldn't meet under better circumstances. What happened here?
RYAN: Nausicaans. They tried to board us. We managed to fight them off but not before we took a few bruises.
ARCHER: Nausicaans?
TRAVIS: Pirates, sir. They've been attacking freighters in this sector for years. My parents had a run-in with them once. They were lucky to come out of it alive.

I DS9-avsnittet "Bar Association" visades att de också är kända för att vara thugs , vapen för uthyrning och kroppsvakter:
